Privacy Policy
What this policy covers. This policy applies to the Yonderly marketing website at yonderly.com and to the Yonderly application — the web console at admin.yonderly.com, the share viewer at web.yonderly.com, and the Yonderly apps for iOS, Android, and Windows. Sections 2 and 3 describe what we collect in each case.
1. Who we are
Yonderly is a product of Meiotic Inc., a company incorporated in California, USA, headquartered in Irvine, CA. When this policy says "Yonderly," "we," "us," or "our," it refers to Meiotic Inc. operating the Yonderly platform and the properties listed above.
2. Information we collect from website visitors
This section covers the marketing website at yonderly.com.
- Waitlist signups: first name (optional) and email address.
- Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referrer URL, browser type, and device type.
- Communications: any information you include when contacting us by email.
3. Information we collect in the Yonderly application
This section covers the web console, the share viewer, and the mobile and desktop apps.
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form). If you were invited to a workspace by someone else, the person who invited you may also have supplied your phone number.
- Workspace details — the name of your workspace and the people you invite into it.
- Content you upload — the files you add to Yonderly (web packages, images, video, audio, PDFs, and text or Markdown documents), along with their file names, sizes, and the folders you organise them into. We store these so we can deliver them to the devices and recipients you choose. We do not inspect the contents of your files, and we do not use them to train any model.
- Share details — when you share a file by email or QR code, the recipient's email address and any personal note you write.
Information collected automatically
- Device information — for each device you pair with Yonderly we record a device name, the platform (iOS, Android, Windows), the operating system version, the device model and manufacturer, and the Yonderly app version. We use this to deliver the right content and to show you which devices are connected.
- A Yonderly device identifier — a random identifier generated by the app the first time it runs, used to recognise a paired device. It is not an advertising identifier and not a hardware serial number, and it is discarded when you unpair the device.
- Viewing activity — when a file is opened, which file it was, when, and for how long, and whether it was viewed in the app or in a browser. Workspace owners and admins can see this for files in their own workspace.
- Email delivery events — for emails we send on your behalf (share links, invitations, device pairing), whether the message was sent, delivered, opened, or bounced.
- Recipient activity on share links — when someone opens a link you shared, we record that it was opened, the browser's user-agent string, and, for QR-code links, the email address the viewer enters to gain access.
- Diagnostic logs — standard server logs and error reports used to keep the service running.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — used solely to scan a pairing QR code. Images from the camera are processed on the device to read the code and are never stored or transmitted.
- Location — the app itself does not use your location and never collects it. The permission exists only because a website you preview inside Yonderly may request your location the same way it would in any browser; if that happens, your device asks you first, and the answer goes to that website, not to us.
4. How we use your information
- To provide the Yonderly service: to store your content, deliver it to the devices and recipients you choose, and show you the activity on it.
- To create and administer your account and workspace, including invitations and device pairing.
- To send you a confirmation email and product updates for Yonderly.
- To understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.
- To respond to your inquiries and support requests.
- To keep the service secure, reliable, and running correctly.
- To process subscriptions and payments.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Payments
You can subscribe to Yonderly on our website or through an in-app purchase in the mobile or desktop app. Website payments are processed by Stripe; card details go directly to Stripe and are never received or stored by Yonderly. In-app purchases are processed by the app store you buy through: the Apple App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android, or the Microsoft Store on Windows. For those purchases, the store handles your payment details under its own privacy policy, not this one, and Yonderly never receives or stores your card details. In all cases we retain your subscription tier, status, billing period, and the identifiers needed to manage the subscription.
6. Email marketing
We use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) to manage our mailing list and send marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We use confirmed opt-in, meaning you will only receive communications after clicking the confirmation link in our welcome email. Transactional emails sent by the application — invitations, share links, device pairing, and password resets — are sent through Resend and are not marketing messages.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve this site, including essential cookies required for the site to function and analytics cookies used to understand traffic patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.
8. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of processors to run the service:
| Processor | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Azure | Hosting, database, and storage of uploaded files |
| Stripe | Payment and subscription processing |
| Apple App Store | In-app purchase and subscription processing |
| Google Play | In-app purchase and subscription processing |
| Microsoft Store | In-app purchase and subscription processing |
| Resend | Sending transactional email (invitations, share links, pairing, password resets) |
| Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) | Marketing email delivery and list management |
| SiteGround | Hosting for the marketing website |
| Google Fonts | Font delivery via Google's CDN |
We may also disclose information where required by law.
9. Data security
Traffic between your devices and Yonderly is encrypted in transit using TLS. Each workspace's data is isolated from every other workspace, and access to a file is limited to the people and devices it has been assigned or shared with. Share links use unguessable tokens and can be revoked or given an expiry date at any time. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, and our processors are contractually bound to do the same.
10. How long we keep things
- We retain waitlist contact data until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Files you delete are recoverable from Recently deleted for 180 days, after which the stored file is permanently removed.
- Aggregate viewing records are retained after the file or user they refer to is deleted, so that historical reporting remains accurate.
- When an account is deleted, the data described under "Deleting your account" is removed as set out there.
- We will delete your personal data upon written request within 30 days.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your Yonderly account at any time, and doing so is permanent.
- In the app — open the menu, choose Account Info, then Delete account.
- On the web — sign in at admin.yonderly.com, go to Settings → Account, then Delete account.
- Full instructions, including what to do if you can no longer sign in, are at https://admin.yonderly.com/account-deletion.
If you own a workspace, deleting your account also deletes that workspace and everything in it: all uploaded files, all paired devices, all share links, groups, invitations, and viewing records. Any active subscription is cancelled. If you were invited into someone else's workspace, only your own account is deleted; their files are unaffected.
To have an account deleted when you can no longer sign in, email privacy@yonderly.com from the address on the account.
12. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. You will never be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
13. Children's privacy
Yonderly is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the revised version with an updated date. Continued use of the site or the application after changes constitutes acceptance.
